Central Bucks West senior Corey Smith earned his first W of the season at Glen Mills on Saturday. He vaulted 13 feet, 6 inches to place first amongst 14 competitors. His vault of 13'6" put him solidly ahead of 2nd place finisher James Harcher from Quakertown, who was able to clear 13 feet. With his first victory of the season secure, he asked the bar be set at 14 feet, 3 inches, a facility record. Though Smith was unable to clear 14'3", his solid outing secures his spot as one of the finest pole vaulters in Pennsylvania.
The Bucks return to action on the banked track at the Lawrenceville School on Wednesday, February 1st for the Poreda Invitational and also return to compete at the Glen Mills Invitational on Thursday, February 2nd.
