Senior Ben Smith stayed clear of the majority of the field and handed off in 4th place with a 1200 meter PR of 3:23.0, followed by junior Greg Branch's fantastic 400 debut (53.5) that launched West into third place, who then handed off the stick to junior Austin Kline who put West just behind the lead as he handed off in an 800 meter PR of 2:03.9 to senior distance standout Nico Metzler who secured the win by soloing a 4:36.9 1600 meter anchor leg.
Also incredibly, on the strength of 4 PR's, seniors Eric Zoleski (2:05.9) and Alex Predhome (2:08.4) paired with juniors AJ Morgan (2:09.9) and Jimmie Kilgannon (2:11.2) to earn bronze medals of out a 23 team field in the 4x800 relay. The foursome ran 8:35.31, just six seconds back from the winning team.
Chris Berry demonstrated his versatility, earning a bronze medal in the mile, running a big indoor PR of 4:44.14. Only Council Rock North's Mac Emery and Hatboro-Horsham's Sam Hibbs outpaced Berry in the field of 19 competitors.
After taking next weekend off, the Bucks will return to action on January 28th at Glen Mills at 7:00 am.
