West placed eight athletes in the top 13 overall in their respectable 23-32 loss to Pennridge. Freshmen phenoms Rock Fortna (18:19) and Brian Iatarola (18:39) placed 5th and 7th overall, followed by senior AJ Morgan (18:46) in 9th place. Super sophomore Baylor Griffin was the Bucks' last scoring runner, placing 10th overall in 19:10.
Freshman Declan McDonald and seniors Jimmy Kilgannon and Will Bone were close on Griffin's heels, placing 11th, 12th, and 13th in 19:13, 19:17, and 19:22, respectively.
Sophomore Patrick Kelly cracked the Bucks' top ten for the first time, placing 9th on the team and 19th overall in 20:27.
Rookie junior Gray Wilson also had himself a great day on the hills, placing 21st in 20:47. Rookie sophomore hurdler Andrew Baker also showed his grit, placing 22nd in 20:50.
The Bucks officially open their season at the Archbishop Wood Viking Invitational next Friday, August 31st at Tamanend Park.
