Instead of going small, the Bucks came out of their corner firing on all cylinders in the discus, with senior John Williams (127') taking the win and a massive PR from sophomore Adam Anastasiadis (122' 11") to claim silver.
With a throwing score now tied at nine points each going into the last throw, the Bucks delivered a knockout performance in the javelin with seniors Will Fernandez (152' 10") and Jackson Butkus (145' 2") taking first and second. Williams again delivered a strong performance (PR of 136') only to get edged for a hard-fought 4th place.
On the track, the Bucks hurdlers had their season-long tall timbers sweep streak snapped by Souderton's Peter Lockman, who placed third. Shawn Young and Jimmie Kilgannon took 1-2 in both hurdle races for the Bucks. Big Dan Nowakowski (16.5), DhungJoo Kim (17.6), and Ryan Devlin (18.5) all ran season-bests in the 110m high hurdles.
The Bucks also swept the relays. Austin Kline starred on all three, while Gillis Wang, Joe Brill, and Chris Berry teamed up with him in the 4x800, Jamie Valdez, Josh Bazzano, and Greg Branch teamed up with him in the 4x100, while Branch returned with senior knuckleheads Shawn Young and Ethan Long to close out the deal in the 4x400. The 4x100 ran a season-best time of 44.9 thanks to a hard-charging Souderton squad and Greg Branch showed he knows his way around the track by splitting a nasty 50.1 gamechanger.
Shawn Young and sophomore Josh Haschets took advantage of the beautiful weather and went 1-2 in the 100 meter dash, posting PRs of 11.5 and 11.6. Freshmen strongmen Jacob Shiela and Jamie Fitzsimmons also turned heads, posting an impressive 12.8 and 12.9.
Kline returned to win the 200 in a "finally!" 22.9 seconds, while Brill returned to scare 53 seconds and assist Ethan Long going 1-2 in the 400. Berry took the 800 with a strong kick, while Morgan and Iatarola took silver in the mile and two-mile, respectively.
Super-sophomore Jason Douple cleared 12' 0" in the pole vault to take silver, while junior jumper Jordan Gilliland lept 5' 4" in the high jump to take bronze. Kilgannon covered ground in the triple to earn a triple of silvers on the day, with another solid performance of 38' 2".
The Bucks return to action against Pennridge, the only other remaining undefeated team in the Suburban One League Continental Conference, on Tuesday.
