CB West upperclassmen stepped up to overcome outstanding front-running by Central Bucks East in a decisive win over East and Pennridge on Wednesday at Peace Valley Park.
Rock-solid junior Rock Fortna led the Bucks by finishing second overall in 16:15. Classmate Declan McDonald popped a gutsy 16:27 PR to claim 4th overall, following strong first and third place finishes by East.
West's pack was sick-nasty though, as senior Ian Davies (16:30, PR, 5th), junior Brian Iatarola (16:35, 7th), and sophomore Brian Mass (16:44, PR, 8th) closed out the top five in 29 seconds to seal the win.
Senior Andrew Baker (16:57, PR, 10th), sophomore Teagan Fortna (16:58, PR, 11th), and junior Logan Mazullo (16:59, PR, 13th) all broke the 17-minute barrier and set personal bests en-route to displacing their competitors' top five runners.
