Mass' 17:06 and Ben Smullen's 17:19 from the novice race were the top two freshmen performances across all three races. West also had four of the top five underclassmen in the field. 6th and 7th men freshman Teagan Fortna (17:26, 39th, PR) and junior Matt Bowen (17:31, 42nd) displaced top five runners from all but three teams in the varsity field.
In the junior varsity race, West averaged 17:45 for its top seven runners and put up an eye-popping 20 second 1-5 spread.
