State University to compete in the Pennsylvania Track & Field Coaches Association Indoor Track
State Championship. The Bucks look to continue their record breaking season and end the
2010 - 2011 indoor season on a high note.
West will compete in three relays in Happy Valley. After finishing 2nd to Abington last year at the
indoor state championship, the 4x800 meter relay of Mike May, Matt McGarvey, Matt Bee, and
Connor Manley is posed to reach the podium this year. The relay is seeded second in PA heading
into the state meet behind once again, rival Abington. The same four will come back and
compete in the 4x400 meter relay where they are seeded sixth. The 4x200 meter relay of Dan
Ernst, Bill Bell, Greg Branch, and Rashaad Williams has improved greatly throughout the indoor
season. Bill Bell, unfortunately has been bothered with a hamstring injury from the Meet of
Champions and might have to sit out at the state meet. If so, Ben Smith is posed and ready to
fill in and help the seventh seeded 4x200 earn a state medal.
Three individuals will also be representing CB West at the state championship. Dan Ernst is coming
on strong as the season winds down and will go into the state championship with the fourth
fastest time in PA. Rashaad Williams has also improved his performance in the 60 meter dash
this season and has his eye on wining a state championship medal. Matt Sutorius will compete in
the 60 meter hurdles and is looking to continue to lower his own school record.
The Bucks will head to State College on Friday. The Pennsylvania Track & Field Coaches Association
Indoor Track State Championship will be held at Penn State University on Saturday, February 26,
begining at 10:00 AM.
