Seniors AJ Morgan, Jimmie Kilgannon, and Ethan Long partnered with sophomore sensation Joe Brill to earn third place overall in the 4x400 meter relay. Morgan put the Bucks in contention with his 55.6 leadoff, followed by Kilgannon (56.6), and Brill (57.1). Long ran a strong anchor leg, taking the Bucks from fifth to third in his 54.5 split.
Another bright spot came in the 4x800 meter relay, where the Bucks placed third as well. Freshman Rock Fortna set a PR (2:07) and had the second-fastest split on the squad, earning his first medal of the season. He teamed up with seniors Chris Berry (2:06), Shawn Young (2:09), and Austin Kline (2:10) to run 8:35.04.
Sophomore Josh Bazzano earned a 5th place medal in the 200 meter dash with his 25.74 effort. Bazzano is one of the first Bucks to earn an individual medal this season, a difficult feat when there are 20-40 teams at each meet.
Freshmen Ryan Walsh (led off the 4x200 in 25.2) and Ryan McIlhinney (57.16 PR to place 9th in the open 400) had strong showings, alongside junior hurdler Dan Nowakowski (26.2 in the 4x200).
The Bucks will be spiked and psyched for their return to action on the banked track at the prestigious Poreda Invitational at The Lawrenceville School on Wednesday night.
