Ben Smith stepped up as the Bucks' third man, showing off his track finish as he courageously passed several runners to place 27th. Ben Aunins and Will Bone finished strongly just seconds later in 35th and 36th place. Will wishes to thank the CB East Athletic Trainer for her excellent ankle-taping.
The JV boys brought home another good looking trophy for the Bucks, placing third out of nine teams, ahead of rivals Pennridge and Council Rock South. Leading the way in eighth place was freshman XC star Baylor Griffin. Griffin's time was the sixth fastest on the team today. Also earning medals with strong performances were juniors Graham Thomas (16th) and Brandon Ciliberto (20th). Freshman Ian Davies (22nd) and junior Anthony Soares (23rd) closed out the Bucks' best 1-5 spread in recent memory, a scant 42 seconds!
The Bucks return to action on Saturday in the Championship, JV A, JV B, and Freshman races at the Briarwood Invitational at the famed Belmont Plateau, host of some of America's most prolific XC races since the running boom.
