The Novice boys kicked things off right by finishing 2nd as a team, with all six runners placing in the top half of the field. Freshman Baylor Griffin came within a second of his PR on a much more difficult course to place 4th overall in a time of 18:15. Freshman Sean Bristow had a big PR to place 8th in 18:53, followed closely by freshman Ben Severn (11th), sophomores Dean Woodrow (16th, PR of 19:51) and Roshan Padodara (26th, PR of 20:49), and Freshman Jake Doherty (29th, PR of 20:54).
The Varsity then took the reigns from the impressive young Bucks, placing 3rd out of 12 teams with just 95 points, trailing only West Springfield (73 points) and cross-town rival CB South Titans (88 points). Junior Chris Berry (16:26) and seniors Alex Predhome (16:30) and Ben Smith (16:48) led a brilliant 1-2-3 punch for the Bucks, placing 2nd, 3rd, and 13th overall, respectively. Senior Rob Mitchell raced to a solid 32nd place to finish 4th for the Bucks in 17:30. Mitchell was followed by super sophomore Ben Aunins who was just 9 seconds shy of his PR to place 45th overall in 17:56. Junior Shawn Young cracked the top 50 with a big PR of 18:06, while classmate Austin Kline also PRed with an 18:34 to place 65th.
The Junior Varsity followed, and with several Bucks fighting to race varsity at the League Championships, the athletes clearly decided to push their chips into the center of the table. Did they ever cash in... Junior Jimmie Kilgannon led a CBWXC goldrush as he soloed up the hill, flashed the crowd an unmistakeable grin, and proceded to decimate the field over the last K with a blistering PR of 17:16! Seeing this, more than one bystander could be heard asking, "...the next Pre?"
Junior AJ Morgan followed with a monster kick to place 5th overall with over a minute PR of 17:44. Surely the badest gorilla in the cage, Morgan had his appendix removed just 50 days ago.
Senior Brandon Ciliberto followed with another big PR of 17:52, the third Buck to finish in the top ten in the race, placing 10th overall! Junior Anthony Soares PRed significantly to be the fourth Bucks JV harrier, placing 36th with an 18:44. Senior Eric Zoleski followed to round out the Bucks' score at 85 team points with his 43rd place finish. The JV finished an impressive 4th place as a team, narrowly trailing host William Tennent (62 points), Wissahickon (64 points), and Holy Ghost Prep (72 points).
Also posting huge PRs in the JV race were juniors Steve Bohnel (19:12) and Brian Sidelinker (19:22), as well as senior Alex Ingrassia (19:59).
